about me
Living in northern Michigan surrounded by lakes and trees is, in my opinion, the ideal environment to work and raise a family. I currently work as a paramedic for Emmet County EMS, and as an instructor and e-Learning Curriculum Coordinator for Remote Medical International, based in Seattle.
My work on the ambulance lets me practice my skills and stay current with the topics and techniques I teach. I enjoy providing patient care in the variety of situations we face in EMS, every shift brings new challenges.

My recent work as an educator has meant spending the majority of my time creating and coordinating online learning content that is viewed by students all over the world. It is extremely rewarding knowing that my content is preparing others to respond to emergencies across the globe. Technology allows me to reach students who share my passion for emergency medicine, without the need to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family enjoying everything northern Michigan has to offer. My wife, Charity, is a kindergarten teacher and summer camp director who loves to be outside and on the water as much as I do. My two daughters, Emma and Erin, love swimming and spending their summers at camp as well. When winter buries us in snow we bundle up and head out to ski and sled. As spring arrives and the weather warms up, a cruise in the convertible with our dog Molly is always a favorite activity. Regardless of the season, balancing work and play and finding time for family is important to all of us.
